Adobe's AIR platform is the company's answer to Google's AppEngine, the company's mission to serve the desktop and mobile computing needs of users. AIR is composed of a runtime application (like Adobe Air), a browser plug-in and libraries and frameworks that developers can use in conjunction with. Adobe AIR 2.0 is set for its second public preview this week at the company’s Build conference in Burbank, California. Our team of product designers, product managers, and C-level ideation have collaborated closely to thoroughly explore every conceivable scenario and scenario of AIR including, but not limited to: How can we offer the most out of mobile computing? Where do we start? Where do we currently stand? What improvements and/or areas do we want to see. As part of its extensive testing, Adobe AIR 2.0 ran alongside a number of popular desktop rendering solutions, rendering manager Spline and cross-platform rendering solutions like WebVR and FireVR. We captured and stored a number of rendering results for both desktop and cross-platform testing, and captured 360-degree video of nearly every single testbed. Here's what we found. On the desktop, AIR worked as expected. The platform supported out of the box six programs and a number of third-party libraries. Even so, desktop-based tests often require a bit of configuratioinition. We'd recommend scaling back the resolution thresholding, and by doing so, you can see how the platform handles certain hardware and deskups. Also, be sure to playoffly test against a beefier machine with more RAM and bigger hard drives. It's likely you'll notice a performance hit, but the tradeoff is worth it. Air showed off impressive positional tracking capabilities, impressively accurately tracking a Radeon Pro 580 by default. This notebook actually differed slightly depending on the aspect ratio, which in our case was a desktop 3:2. With this the model with the smaller screen managed to maintain a nice view of the entire desktop. It's not just about the monitor, either. AIR 2.0 includes new Eyefinity support that lets you take full advantage of the feature on multiple monitors. Just make sure you have the latest driver versions now. Developers now rewarded with Unity Forge, can now build apps in-Dash as well. This is a very cool feature and I'm excited to see what developers get excited about in future updates. Adobe is still hiring for Adobe Forge Program Manager. The job opening itself doesn't look like it would be very interesting, but here's what the job posting has to offer: Adobe Forge Program Manager. Creative Cloud Developer and Product Manager. Working toward certification in Adobe Forge and Adobe AIR, this. Includes knowledge of Adobe tools. Adobe has been steadily improving Creative Cloud since it first went public in 2017. But to get from A to B as quickly as possible, Adobe offers a variety of "early bird" programs. The programs cost $700 per year to take the rookie program directly to the chief technology officer (The CEO), while the sophomore-to-the-foreman can get a "pre-programming course" option and start with the lower level of the program. At $1,197 per year, Creative Cloud CC isn't the cheapest Creative Suite, but the program does include Creative Cloud Lightroom and the new Adobe Camera app, which is Adobe's cloud photography service. Adobe's Creative Cloud programs for existing subscribers run from approximately $1,000 per year for the Basic subscription for Adobe Camera Raw to support a dual-camera setup in the early 2020s. Adobe's Creative Cloud For Developers program, also known as Adobe Creative Cloud CS4 Pro, also includes access to support for the Developer account for both Adobe Creative Suite applications and projects can be edited on the main Creative Cloud environment. Adobe Camera Raw is Adobe's consumer-facing digital camera suite. It can shoot 4K video in under 30 seconds and record 1080p 30 fps video for up to 90 minutes. It's currently available for: iPhone, Android, Samsung, Canon, Sony, iPhone 6s, 6 Plus, 6s Plus, Windows devices and servers. In the meantime, Adobe is also releasing a version of Adobe Camera Raw for Windows. In the Apple App Store, it's currently at a price of $50, with no discount. Adobe's Creative Cloud Program Manager Lori Frolunda-Smith, in speaking with Adobe's CTO Brad O'Brien, talked about the context around the programs' release. These are all things we think we're able to bring to the table because we've got a great lineup of apps that are existing on the Adobe iOS app store. We've got Invision Movie, which is a movie
